Rat Trap

Plan of Rat Trap:
  • peanut butter
  • Trap
  • Rat
  • Holes
  • Dead Smelly

In New Zealand there are rats everywhere and three young Wellington students are on a mission to catch rats. The students made a trap and are giving them to people for free to catch them, they will reward people if they catch or kill the rat. It's bad for them to come into your house because they can chew up stuff or make a lot of holes witch is damaging your comfortable house. If rats dies your house can smell badly witch is very disgusting and bad. You can catch them easily by setting up your trap and put peanut butter on it because rats love peanut butter.

ASTRIA

A student in another school has recently blogged that:
“Students don’t learn much playing this game called Astria – Countdown to Impact: Their time could be better spent doing other things”.

I partly agree that this game does help us to learn because this game is just about trying stop a frozen asteroid with 3 solution. In the second photo you could see the number 81 thats how many more days the Astria scientists and the Alpha leader (me) to pick one great solution. The Alpha leader has to go through each room to get some evidence to pick the greatest solution.

1080 Poison

The task we did independently after some discussion who based around the idea that
other groups including the department of conservation (DOC) are planning to take action
that will see NZ predator free by 2050.

Today I participated in an online discussion based around how I felt about the view a
group known as Nature Watchers, who believes that animals that are called ‘pests’ by
the Predator Free groups should be treated with more respect.
I was asked to agree, disagree or express my ideas based around the information provided
and supporting information I found online.

I disagree with the view of the group known as the Nature Watchers.

I disagree with what people say about banning predators because that is not fair. Why should the animals or insects that need protection should be having a free life while the other animals are tortured and banned. I disagree with this because this not a fair chance in life. The only reason why predators are misbehaving it's because of us humans. If we treat them how we treat other animals then they might have a chance to prove themselves and show that they are innocent or maybe the animals are just very hungry and they like the food they are eating. If nothing is working then we should just put the other animals on a different Island so they could run free and live their life. If we want to stop our pets from eating other animals we should make our pets an indoor pet especially cats because they like to catch rats, mice, birds, spiders and then they like to bring them into the house to show their owners what they have caught.

Today I'm talking about why we shouldn't have the 1080(poison pellets drop)because it is very bad for the other animal. I have seen and watched videos and pictures of innocent animals dying from this poison. I think we should stop the poison pellets going around. I saw a video of a cow who accidentally ate the green poisoned pellets and died right on the spot and a man found his three dogs dead on his lawn when he was going to feed them. After seeing terrifying photos and videos, I strongly say that they should stop spreading the pellets because it's causing our animals to die and this can be a cause or extinction.  Animals have been around with us for a very long time even when Christ first walked on Earth. God made the animals to live here with us so that means they have no rights to take away our native animals because if we do we will be killing them.
