Manaiakalani

Hurry!  We are going to meet people from Hawaii coming in a Waka.

Today Saint Patrick school went to Point England Beach to welcome the Waka. When we got there I saw 9 schools and 2000 students. We sat on the grass and waited for the waka to come. Once the waka arrived a woman blew a horn which looked like a big shell.While the woman was blowing the horn the waka people blowed back.I think it was to let the people know of their arrival to New Zealand. 

When the waka people came ashore the student leaders of the schools performed a Haka. And to welcome the visitors from Hawaii.Then  they said something in Maori.Then we sang 3 songs in Maori. And a gentleman told us to give Hi-five the people from Hawaii.The first School
