Zayn and Oreo!

There was a boy called Zayn and he was only 15 years old. One bright and sunny Saturday, while he was  walking down town, he saw a group of teenage girls. There names were Niki, Trish and Bella. They were also 15 year olds like Zayn.

He thought of showing the girls how cool he was so he started dancing on the footpath to catch the girls’ attention. He was actually a great dancer. The girls watched him dance for a while then suddenly, Trish yelled, “Dog! Dog! Dog!”.  Zayn looked behind him and saw a dog angrily running towards him. He told the girls, “I know the dog, his name is Oreo and he is dangerous”. Oreo barked and ran fast as he could to Zayn and attacked him.  Zayn got very angry and tried to punch the dog but Oreo opened his mouth and showed Zayn his sharp teeth.

Zayn was scared to death but he did not show it to Oreo.  He pretended to punch him then ran his fastest but Oreo chased him down the road. Zayn remembered that he had lollipops in his pocket so he threw them to Oreo to distract him and to slow him down. Suddenly  Zayn spotted two policemen walking on the other side of the street. He yelled at them, “Help, Help! A mad dog is chasing me!”

Zayn saw a baseball bat on the side of the road, he grabbed it and hit Oreo on the leg. The dog stopped attacking Zayn and he looked like it was in a lot of pain. The policemen came to rescue the dog but arrested Zayn for hitting it on the leg. They said, “It’s cruelty to animals so we will arrest you and put you in jail”.

The Police Officers handcuffed Zayn and took him to the police car. Oreo looked and barked at Zayn in a sad and sorry face. Zayn looked at Oreo and said, “It’s ok, I forgive you”.

Learning intention: We are learning to write a narrative.

Success criteria: I know I can do this when I follow the structure of narrative (title, orientation, problem, conclusion) to write my story about a boy and a dog called Oreo.
